Welch suspenders started in 1967 in Portland, Oregon. Traditionally, in the Northwest, anyone showing up to join a logging crew wearing a belt instead of suspenders was sent home as too green to work with the crew. In 2026 Perry Suspenders purchased Welch and is now manufacturing in Illinois. All Welch suspenders are US made and recognized for their quality and reliability.
