Leather Belt, 1.5 inch, No Buckle
This 1½ inch wide bridle leather belt is bench made, with full attention to detail. Edges are rounded, polished and finished with a line inside the edge. The end keeper is formed and sewn. The belt is available in Black and Brown, a rich brown with a touch of red. Hand crafted in the USA.
This belt is sold without a buckle, in case you already own a favorite buckle. We offer a plain brass buckle separately, specially chosen to complement the belt. The buckle end uses Chicago screws or snaps for easy attachment of a buckle.*
* Our vendor, Danny Whitaker, recently changed from using snaps to Chicago screws for the belt buckle attachment on this belt when he could not find new stock of snaps that met his standards. We currently have mixed stock. Snaps are quicker to open when changing buckles but Chicago screws are more reliable. Please call if this is a concern for you and we will manually check our inventory.

Our bridle leather belts are made in one of the finest leathers known, top quality waxed bridle leather. Only the prime back section of the hide is used, and all belts are cut lengthwise, the direction of greatest strength in the hide. The natural top grain is used, with its normal variation in texture and patterning. Often belt makers remove the top grain and emboss for a smooth finish, but this weakens the leather. Our belts use the full grain, making each belt unique, complete with any natural irregularities and variations in the leather.
The dye used in our bridle leather belts only permeates the surface of the leather, and is only applied to the outer surfaces. Dyes that penetrate leather weaken the belt. Although these bridle leather belts with only surface dye are very strong, excessive weight on the belt, such as when used as a tool belt or with gun holsters, will wear away the dye. We do not recommend these belts as heavy duty work belts.

Fine leather deserves good care. We suggest a light coating of Pecard Leather Dressing every six months to help maintain the fine appearance and durability of these belts.
